For this paper, you must go to a restaurant setting. This can be anywhere from McDonald’s to a very fancy, expensive restaurant, and can, in fact, be a restaurant where you are employed. Bring a list of topics from the textbook, and make social observations around these topics. Here are some examples of topics: values, norms, social location, sociological perspective, statuses, roles, groups, social institutions, social class, culture, bureaucracy, MdDonaldization, etc. All work should be sociological, not psychological. Basically, go into this experience with an open mind, as an observer, and write down all you observe that connects with the chapters we have covered so far. Paper must be at least 1,000 words and double spaced. YOU MUST CITE OUR TEXTBOOK (PAGE & EDITION INCLUDED!) AT LEAST THREE TIMES IN THIS PAPER. Remember, three citations is a minimum – for a higher grade, put in as many as you can!
