Accessing Meaning
Order Description
One of the main debates in the literature of second language acquisition and bilingualism is how L2 words are processed and represented. The term “process” means how linguistic information is accessed and retrieved in comprehension and production, and “represent” means ow linguistic information is stored in memory. For the last 30 years, there have been a few bilingual models (eg the RHM, the Sense Model, the BIA+) proposed to account for empirical evidence and describe the L2 or/and bilingual representations. Please critically review at least two (and not more than three) bilingual models and the relevant empirical evidence supporting those models. Please also discuss the merits and flows of each model.
