Advanced communication 3

Communication is a core competency for registered nurses (ANMC). It is at times undervalued or taken for granted until there is an incident. In health care, a communication error can be critical with life altering outcomes.
In preparation for the next assessment item, reflect on the quality and types of communication in your workplace. Start to think about an incident which may have occurred due to a communication issue. It could be a positive or negative incident. Start researching communication issues in nursing and make notes how they are relevant in your workplace and to the incident you have identified for Assignment 2.

Recently there has been an increased focus on Interprofessional Education (IPE). You should also search the literature around this topic and consider how it applies to your identifed critical incident.

Assignment 3 – Written communique

Well you are now moving towards the end of this topic. It is time to consider issues such as Conflict Resolution, Team Building and How Leaders Communicate.
These issues impact on your ability to be an advanced communicator.
In Assessment 3 you are required to write a communiqué, produce a poster, develop a research proposal, write a submission, or argue a case for change in the workplace related to communication.
The communiqué may be related to the content in Assignment 2 but can be related to any communication issue in your workplace. The intended audience for the communiqué will need to be clearly identified and the context described.
Assignment 3 Communique is following on from the information you have found in Assignment 2. After writing the essay and presenting your main findings, you are for assignment 3, required to rework and put this information into a brochure, a research proposal or similar.
