Paper, Order, or Assignment Requirements

You will see variable references to required length of papers in this course. I have changed the length requirements and generally caused confusion by not catching all references. For convenience, you should assume that all papers in the class require at least 750 words (double spaced, normal font) which means three pages or more to me. That does not include your title page and bibliography which should be with every college paper. I do not think quoted material of more than a sentence is justified since these are writing exercises and not cut & paste exercises. In the past I have required longer papers and have generated a lot of filler material and I would hope shrinking the length will obviate the need for that from your point of view. I expect you will address the issues in more than three pages but I want you to be concise as well as thorough so be concerned more with content than with length. Over six or seven pages and you need to have a good reason so keep it within reason and you’ll have no problem. I hope that resolves all discrepancies.
