Agricultural trade issues

The goal of this exercise is to demonstrate not only your knowledge of the subject matter but also to demonstrate your ability to communicate concisely and clearly in your own words. Page submitted early will receive a one point/day bonus while those submitted past the deadline will be penalized by 10 points/ day past the due date (with the day counted at 5 pm). Paper should be typed, single spaced, 12 pt. font, cited, and should be the work of each individual student.

Trade issue paper: Agricultural trade issue

*Maximum 300 words (not including the works cited) – about 1-2 pages

* this paper is worth 100 points or 10% of your course grade.

* First select a prime agricultural trade issue. It can be economical or technical trade barrier as defined by the text. (Examples: COOL or country origin labeling, genetically modified crops or foods, importation of Brazilian beef, trade promotions authority legislation.

Required sections:

*Introduce the trade issue, including a discussion of history, countries involved, the make up and economics of the issue, its importance internationally, and other relevant introductory concepts.

*Discuss the particular positions/ views of the countries involved, making sure you emphasize  the issues the uniquely define the country.

*Provide a properly formatted listed of works cited.
