stereotyping; children’s negotiations of cultural identity when cultures clash; the role of religion; the use of humor in children’s books; sexuality and/or its depiction in children’s literature; the problem of adolescence and the “inbetweenness” of the adolescent; the use of illustrations in children’s books, etc.
