Alien lands at Brookdale

Imagine that an alien has landed at Brookdale. The goal of your alien friend is to blend into mainstream society and to understand its basic customs. Part off blending in is learning how to “act like a girl” or “act like a boy.” Depending on your gender, write an essay instructing the alien how to “act like a boy” or to “act like a girl.” Include verbs; consider settings like school, work, and family gatherings.

1. How do we learn these rules? Is it possible to unlearn them?

2. What happens when you don’t follow these rules? When you don’t act like a boy or girl is supposed to act? What are the sanctions imposed?
