Locate one page from a professional website that is problematic for a number of reasons.
Analyze and evaluate the page according to web design guidelines discussed in our class lecture.
o Note design aspects that seem to work well and how they are consistent with design theory, and . . .
o Note design aspects that seem problematic and how they might be inconsistent with design theory.
Of course, you can always point out design aspects that work well, but are inconsistent with theory, or . . . Point out design aspects that do not work well, but are
consistent with theory.
Finally, provide a rationale for a redesign that corrects problems with the original.
Your analysis and evaluation should be approximately 320-500 words.

• Proximity – Group related items together
• Alignment – Place text and graphics so that readers understand their relationship. • Repetition – Use consistent layout patterns
• All Level 1 headings should use the same typeface, type size, spacing, and capitalization.
• Consistent use of color, icons, rules, and screens.
• Contrast – create distinguishing elements to enhance information processing.
• Example: Black print on white background; upper and lower case letters; color distinctions.
