Analyze the relationship between plays and musicals

In lecture, we’ve noted how all musical theater is theater, but not all theater is musical theater. How do musicals provide a unique experience for audience members and creators of the performance? What elements does musical theater share with other styles of live performance? Please analyze the relationship between plays and musicals, featuring two examples in your paper: any one (1) musical of your choice, and any one (1) of the following plays: A Doll House, Yellow Face, Hippolytus, or Dulcitius. What elements do these works share as “theater,” and what elements are unique to each example?
