Analyzing a News Media Graph
Search the news media for an example of a linear, quadratic, polynomial, rational, logarithmic, or exponential functions graph.
This week, you are going to look for an example of a graph in the news media that represents one of the following types of graphs: linear, quadratic, polynomial, rational, logarithmic or exponential function. Newspapers, magazines, and journals often use graphs to display information in an eye-catching manner. In this Discussion, you will find and analyze a graph that fits the form of one of the functions that you have learned about in this course.
With these thoughts in mind:

Post by Day 3 a 1- to 2-paragraph analysis of a graph from the news media. Your posting should include the following:

A graph from the news media that you think may be closely modeled by a linear, quadratic, polynomial, rational, logarithmic or exponential function. If you are using an electronic resource, provide a link. If you are using a print media source, attach a pdf of the graph to your response.

An explanation of which type of function (linear, quadratic, polynomial, rational, logarithmic, or exponential) the graph most closely models.
A detailed description of the behavior of your chosen graph. Use mathematical terms to explain why the graph is rising or falling at certain points.

Be sure to support your ideas by connecting them to the week’s Learning Resources, or something you have read, heard, seen, or experienced.
