Analyzing an organization

Analyzing an organization
For this paper, employ material already used for postings. The goal is to assess/analyze your organization using concepts from Conrad & Poole, Fritz & Omdahl, and Fritz books

To work at the A level:
• Use About 50 concepts drawn from all of Conrad & Poole chapters 1-9 from "Strategice Organizational Communication in A Global Econamy" and all of the Fritz & Omdahl chapters 1- 7, & 9-11, in "Problematice Relationships In The Workplace" and Fritz chapters 1-7, & 9 in Professional Civility" covered so far (at least two from each chapter; use concepts from subsequent chapters if you like, as well, if you prefer)
• Extended essay format, with some coherent/connecting theme or set of themes and organizational format that is not identical to the chapter structure/outline of the C&P, F&O, or Fritz books. Connect insights that have emerged through reflection on the work already posted manifested in themes that draw ideas together, including interconnections among chapters, underlying threads or patterns that you notice, and/or application of concepts to solve a problem or explain some phenomenon in the organization. For example, the paper could illustrate reflection on how the course material can be applied to the organization to yield insight about the organization’s structure/workings, to solve or manage a problem, and/or to initiate change within the organization that you identify. If you identify a challenge currently facing your organization, you might organize the paper in terms of the elements of the problem, with perhaps three or four major headings. Within each of these headings, you would draw from multiple chapters of our texts, as applicable, to do the analysis. Or perhaps you are exploring a change that happened or is to happen in your organization. You might organize according to a temporal sequence, such as before, during, and after—either what did actually happen, or what should happen in order to guarantee a smooth transition (along with a discussion of potential problems). Note that in each case, the context or situation drives the organization of the paper, not the order of chapters in the C&P book.
• Refrain from structuring the analysis on a chapter by chapter basis according to Conrad & Poole or the other books. Organize the paper, instead, according to the context chosen for analysis (e.g., elements of the challenge or problem; areas of strength and weakness in the organization; time periods in the history of the organization’s development; questions around which your analysis turns; areas where culture is made manifest in particular ways, giving rise to particular strengths/challenges for the organization).
