After reviewing the resources in the Public Health Nursing Course Modules, and viewing the video or reading the book “And the Band Played On” by Randy Shilts, complete the following essay questions.

Textbook is: Stanhope, M., & Lancaster, J. (2014). Foundations of nursing in the community : community-oriented practice (4th ed.). St. Louis, Mo.: Mosby/Elsevier.

Spelling, grammar and appropriate APA format will be considered in the grade. Substantiate your answers by referring to the textbook AND refer to the video/book.

Both will need to be cited plus at least 1 nursing journal (preferably 2 if needed)

QUESTIONS (25 Points Possible)

Question 1:

Based on what you observed in the film or read in the book; clearly articulate and delineate at least three of the sociopolitical factors that influenced public health policy development for HIV/AIDS prevention and control in the United States. Then discuss separately each of the three sociopolitical factors. [each factor and discussion is equal to three points each]

What was your overall reaction after viewing this film/reading this book with respect to the impact on the health care system in the United States? Cite at least one impact related to your reaction to video/book content will have on your nursing practice. Use one nursing journal citation to support the nursing practice
