Arts industry report. Arts Organisations – Researching the Field

Order Description

Select and critique one arts organisation that is relevant to your practice(Jewelry). Write a report addressing the following:
-What role does the organisation play in the Australian arts sector? What are its aims, objectives, what does it do?
-What support does it offer artists, designers and craftspeople?
-What are the strengths and limitations of the organisation?
-How do you think the organisation could be improved or extended?
-What would be required to enable this to happen? (increased resources, changed vision, etc)?

There are many important and excellent public and private organisations that support visual art and design in Australia, these provide a wide range of support and services from funding and policy; education; curating, collecting, exhibiting and selling artwork; legal assistance and advocacy. South Australian organisations include Guildhouse; ArtsSA; FELTspace; Art Gallery of SA; the Helpmann Academy; the Jam Factory; the Australian Experimental Art Foundation (AEAF); Contemporary Art Centre of SA (CACSA); Carclew Youth Arts; Samstag Museum.
National organisations include the Australia Council; NAVA; Arts Law; ABAF; Arts Hub; National Gallery of Australia
