1. Identify and discuss the basic principles of data collection.
2. Why is it important to have well-documented, evidence-based processes and tools in place for regularly measuring performance in patient care and services?
3. Why do you think health care organizations are held accountable for ensuring the competence of their physicians and licensed independent practitioners?
4. Identify and discuss 5 end users of health data. Be sure to discuss what type of data they might be interested in knowing.
5. Why is it important for national health information management organizations to agree on how to standardize paper and electronic medical forms?
6. What is the role of managers in quality and patient safety? (Please use your textbook only. An appropriate length to answer this question is one to three paragraphs in length).
7. Identify and discuss how these groups impact health care quality and patient safety: federal oversight agencies, accrediting bodies, and consumers.
