You will evaluate the adequacy, deficiency, and health benefits of your vitamin intake based on the “My Food List”

Report and “Actual Intake vs. Recommended Intake” Report in MyDietAnaIysis.

DETAILS:

Go to MyDietAnaIysis

Click on

Reports” and then click on “Single Nutrient Report.”

Select each ofthe following items from the drop down menu. You will need

to select each nutrient separately and show a different report for each nutrient. You may also printthe reports.

Examine the vitamin content from the reports. Compare your actual intake to the recommended intake. Compare yourfindings with the
recommendations in yourtextbook. Note areas in which yourvitamin consumption is adequate and deficient. Explain howthe foods in the
single nutrient reports are contributing positivelyto your diet. Explain how the foods you consume are contributing positively or
negativelyto your diet and health, using at least 4 specific examples. Make suggestions for howto improve your vitamin consumption by
providing at Ieast7 specific examples. This may involve substitutions/replacements or additions. Briefly discussthe concerns of
deficiencies related to the vitaminsthatfell short of recommendations.

Finances and culture may play a strong role here and may be

incorporated into the discussion, along with how vitamins pertain to health. You may need to consider the textbook readings on
BioavaiIabiIity,” “Cooking and Storage,” “Toxicity,” and “Antioxidants” in your analysis.

This is your opportunity to

demonstrate your mastery ofthe subject matter. General broad answers do not earn as many points as specific examples. Multiple, specific,
and applicable examples help demonstrate your mastery ofthe material and your understanding of howto manipulate a diet. Be sure to use 1
