As a newly appointed Electrical Engineer for a large Electrical Contractor, you are part of the project team involved in the feasibility and provisional electrical design for a new leisure centre block (see attached drawings). You have been asked to produce a portfolio of evidence that includes electrical calculations /design- containment and electrical wiring- switchgear protection – power factor control installation (in a steel factory) and control to building services motors. All evidence should be in accordance with the current Building Regulations and all relevant statutory and non statutory documents.

Identify the relevant legislation and standards related to electrical
Installation work and explain the purpose in complying with these documents.

Provide evidence of electrical work examples  to support your answers.
LO 3.2

Justify safety principles, procedures and equipment used in electrical installations
Task 11
Identify and list 5 major Hazards which are associated with the two
storey Building.
For each hazard identify the persons potentially at risk and the
possible consequences for the persons should the risk materialise
Provide a risk assessment matrix for each scenario, complete with a method statement. You may use your workplace template.

Produce specifications for overcurrent protection devices    Task 12

Produce an accurate layout drawing that includes all switchgear overcurrent protection and panelboards.
