Project description
3.6 should be the requirement. Please write the assessed pllog brief according to the document I had provided to you. 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3 should be what I had learned through this period, so please write what I had learned through 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3.
3.6 Phase 3Personalised Learning Plan brief

In this assessment you review your performance in the six weeks of Phase 3 that started on 10th March 2014 and finished on 9th May 2014.

You will be asked to consider how you have further developed your knowledge and skills and to think about how to move forward into year 2 (level 5). You mustmake another visit to your Personal Academic Tutor (PAT) to update your Personalised Learning Plan. This PLP uses a new template –“3.6 Phase 3 PLP Template”.

Your PAT will review your feedback on your objectives forPhase 3, your Phase 3 Pllog summary and your objectives for Year 2 and provide appropriate feedback, guidance and comments.

Learning Objectives
This assessment will help you:
• To appraise your own and others’ motivation in the light of a range of theoretical perspectives of how people behave in groups and organisations
• To demonstrate interpersonal skills of effective listening, negotiating and persuasion
• To state the concepts of group dynamics and team roles as applied to working in small groups
• To manage your time to meet deadlines and obligations including those to other members of your group
• To understand the requirements for professionalism in business and show evidence of meeting them
• To be aware of ethical issues affecting your personal behaviour while at university and in your career
• To appraise your own strengths and weaknesses, evaluate your learning and prepare a strategy for future development of competencies for a career in business

The Task

There are two aspects to this task

1. Review your progress through Phase 3 of the Business Pod unit using your Pllog entries. Write your PLP with your Phase3Pllog summary. Think about your objectives for Year 2 and record them in the appropriate section of the template.

2. Meet your PAT with your updated Personalised Learning Plan to review what you said you were going to doin Phase 3 and to discuss your objectives for next year.
Once again, the objective of this assessment is to demonstrate that you are learning from past experience, taking responsibility for your self-development and using this learning to improve your personal performance in the future.

As well as learning specific knowledge and skills in areas of Finance, Marketing, HR and Tourism during your time in the Pods you have developed abilities in more general areas such as data analysis, research and essay writing skills. Particularly important in Phase 3 is working in groups. These skills underpin your learning and are highly valued by employers. It is these “generic” transferable skills which we want you to consider in particular in your PLP. The ability to analyse and improve your own performance is highly valued by employers: they like people who can learn from experience.

What are we looking for?

To pass this assessment you MUST:
Submit aPLP, incorporating your Pllog summary for Phase 3 and your objectives for the following year and that has been agreed with your PAT. Your PAT comments should be included in the appropriate section. What you submit must demonstrate honesty and self-awareness – self-appraisals are pointless if you are not honest with yourself.

To achieve a higher grade in this assessment you SHOULD:
Summarise your thoughts considering how you felt and what you observed rather than what you did. Focus on your weaknesses but don’t forget to consider your strengths too. Be realistic about your difficulties and how you can overcome them. Include short examples so that you are evidencing your statements. Explain why things went well or badly – you need to be able to explain them to learn from the experience. Set yourself measurable objectives for the next academic year. We expect you to consider how you coped with the pressures of two complex group projects running in parallel.

To achieve a grade at the highest level you COULD:
Bring theories in to your writing. For instance, in Phase 2 we have looked at theories by McGregor and Vroom. You can still also include theories from Phase 1 such as Belbin’s Team Roles, or Six Hats Thinking.
Write not just about what you did in class but also your views on the reading, the weekly Learning Blocks on BREO, even what you noticed or discoveredin your other units and/or at work, demonstrating connections to what we covered in the pods.

Submission
Your PLPincluding your Pllog summary withcomments from your PAT MUST be submittedto the Turnitin button on your Learning Community as a single document by 11.59pm on Friday 16thMay 2014.

YourPhase 3Pllog summary should be a maximum of 1000 words. YourPLP does not have a word count limit.

Help and Support
You will find Pllog prompts in the weekly Learning Blocks. You also had a lecture on appraisals in Phase 1 Week 4.

Feedback
Feedback will be provided by Friday 30th May 2014. You will find your feedback linked to your Turnitin document on BREO.
