CAN AN EXPOSURE TO A LANGUAGE FOR A LONG TIME MAKES YOU ACQUIRE IT ?

Introduction
This research will show the result of the exposure to English for a long time for Saudi students who are studying English.
The exposure to English through the media or the internet.
And what problems could happen and what the benefits could be gained.

General Area
The general area of this research is “Linguistics”

Specific Area
The specific Area of the research is Applied Linguistics.

Tentative Title
(Acquiring English as a second language for Saudi students of Jazan University through the media and the internet)

Explanation of the title
The title means that allowing English to Surround you for too long a time while you are a student in the English department will make you a really good English speaker.
Applying some theories of Language Acquisition of the L1 as a little baby.
The same methods will be applied on mature students of Jazan University by exposing them to the English through watching movies , TVshows or listening to the radio.

Tools and methodology
The researcher uses some different tools such as:
Questionnaire: The researcher will question some students from Jazan University about the role of the Media in their process of acquiring English and how that helped them beside taking courses and how it made them good speakers and writers.
Interview: interviewing some students and teachers.
The MLA referencing style will be used throughout the paper.

Research questions
The researcher wants to ask:
How can an exposure to a language for a long time makes you acquire it?
What is the result of letting English surrounding you all the time by watching movies, TVshows or listening to the radio?

The outcomes of this research
This research will be the complete guide to create a Saudi student with the ability of being a good English speaker or English writer.
Probably, this student will be outstanding in his classes
Will be able to impress his teachers by being engaged in all discussions with no fear of lack of vocabulary and grammar of the targeted language.
