Paper instructions:
Write a case study on a U.S. company that has started doing business in China and has failed at doing so. The business must be a branch of a U.S. company that has either branched/extended or moved operations over to China. One example would be Coca Cola; from what little I know they expanded into China and were eventually run off. The paper needs to focus on the culture of China and the culture of the U.S. and how they differ and what the said company did wrong, culturally. Describe what was done wrong and what was done write. Explain why they did not make it in China and what they could have done before they expanded and during the move and startup. Give the top three reasons for their failure and describe in detail why these were the worst mistakes and what they should have done. One other section should be on what companies can learn from the mistakes of this company. All of this should be focusing on culture.
