Case study (report)
This assignment has three parts.
Part 1. The preliminary work for this assignment involves choosing an issue (eg. elder abuse, marriage inequality), or
group (eg. people living with HIV) where discrimination, unjust treatment or disadvantage has been experienced and/or where
human rights have been violated in some way. You should then gather evidence including:
– A definition of the problem and causes
– the size or scale of the issue
– problems and challenges experienced by this group
Part 2. In the second part you need to discuss the ways in which people are marginalised or discriminated against and
describe the social justice or human rights issues implicated in the case. Consider the power relations inherent in the
situation.
Part 3. In part three you develop a plan for advocacy action for addressing the situation. (use Ricketts reading
please)
