CaseChronic Health Conditions Custom Essay

Project Description:
The project consists of a critical review of products, publications and websites of your choice to ascertain the strategies used and if the information provided fully informs the prospective consumer in a forthright manner. This will be accomplished through the development and application of an assessment tool. An assessment tool is defined as an instrument designed to collect objective data. It could be a chart, a survey, a kit, etc.

Project Activity #2:

Continue to develop the categories/elements on your assessment tool.

For this section:

You need to include in your assessment tool the following:

The type/classification of the health issue you have selected.

Does the health issue have a medical threat on your patient/client?

The strategies that have been used by Quacks to convince your patient/client to buy their products.

The reasons that may make your patient/client purchase these products.

Your role, as health educator, in assessing those products

Your role, as health educator, in assisting your patient/client to make sound decision about self-diagnosis, self-treatment, and use of unproven products.

Your SLP for this module should be 2 pages in length. Also, include a list of sources used.

Assessment Tool

The intent of the assessment tool in the SLP’s of this course is to develop a tool using scientific method and critical evaluation to determine the authenticity and safety of a treatment and/or product as it pertains to health and disease. Once developed, this tool can be used to evaluate all treatments: western medical treatments, alternative methods and those that have not been determined to meet medically accepted treatment.

Each SLP starts with a project description, then each module requires different variables for evaluation to be included in your assessment tool:

You will develop the assessment tool in modules 1-4 and then in module 5 you will formulate a marketing method for the assessment tool you have developed.

At the end of each module are learning objectives that you will use to guide and develop your assessment tool.

ASSIGNMENT EXPECTATIONS: Please read before completing assignments.

Assignment should be approximately 2 pages in length (double-spaced).
Please use major sections corresponding to the major points of the assignment, and where appropriate use sub-sections (with headings).
Remember to write in a Scientific manner (try to avoid using the first person except when describing a relevant personal experience).
Quoted material should not exceed 10% of the total paper (since the focus of these assignments is on independent thinking and critical analysis). Use your own words and build on the ideas of others.
When material is copied verbatim from external sources, it MUST be properly cited. This means that material copied verbatim must be enclosed in quotes and the reference should be cited either within the text or with a footnote.
Use of peer-reviewed articles is strongly recommended. Websites as references should be minimal.
The following items will be assessed in particular:

1. PRECISION: Each of the questions of the assignment is specifically addressed in the paper.

2. CLARITY: The paper reads clearly (i.e., it is not confusing) and is well-structured.

3. BREADTH: The paper presents appropriate breadth covering the questions of the assignment.

4. DEPTH: The paper presents points that lead to a deeper understanding of the matters and/or issues being discussed and integrates several points into coherent conclusions.

5. CRITICAL THINKING: You set aside your own personal biases and instead approach the subject matter using available scholarly evidence. You consider the strengths and weaknesses of competing arguments/perspectives on this topic. Having read these scholarly sources, you make a judgement as to the merit of the arguments presented therein.

Keep in mind that "A" papers are truly exceptional works that go beyond simply answering the questions.Module 2 Resources
