Using the Causes of Delay in Building Construction, build a Cause and Effect Diagram for the stated scenario. 2. Using your Cause and Effect Diagram as an illustration of the case quality problem, construct a Pareto Analysis Diagram to determine the effect of the proposed corrective action(s). 3. Check your result with the results from the case study and address a number of questions. 4. Consolidate your findings and answers to the questions in steps 2 and 3 and report out on your findings. A Cause-and-Effect Diagram (also known as a “Fishbone Diagram”) is a graphical technique for grouping people’s ideas about the causes of a problem. Using a Cause-and-Effect Diagram forces the team to consider the complexity of the problem and to take an objective look at all the contributing factors. It helps the team to determine both the primary and the secondary causes of a problem and is helpful for organizing the ideas generated from a brainstorming session.
