change in higher education

TOPIC: The context for change in higher education in an increasingly academic-capitalistic environment.
Leaders in higher education today are faced with many challenges. In Module 2, you are familiarizing yourself with how finances play a very major role in the direction of education. Many changes are taking place in an effort to provide more access and affordability. In the wake of these changes, institutions have to adjust and balance their academic mission and vision with the needs of a growing society. The student population is now being referred to as a consumer; education is becoming very market driven. Your Kezar (2014) text outlines several frameworks for understanding change (pgs. 43-175). In the Literature Discussion for Module 2, you will discuss how these frameworks can be applied to help leaders with this ever-increasing academic-capitalistic environment. You will need to cite outside sources for your discussion.
