Order Description
SOW 3233 β SOCIAL WELFARE POLICY AND SERVICES II
Spring 2015
Choose a social welfare policy that is in need of change (or a policy that should not be changed) and prepare a Policy Brief presenting the arguments for (or against)
the change. Follow the outline provided in Appendix B of the textbook. The Policy Brief should be as brief as possible and may be no longer than 5 pages in length.
While citations are not a part of the Policy Brief (although recommendations for further reading may be), provide a list of sources for the Policy Brief on a separate
page, cited in APA style.
Remember that the purpose of a Policy Brief is to convince the reader to take action. It is important to anticipate other opinions, to insure that the facts in the
Policy Brief are accurate, and to present your arguments clearly and simply. Since your own credibility as a policy advocate is at stake, insure that your Policy Brief
is well-written and free of typographical, grammatical, and spelling errors.
Submit the Policy Brief on the course website by the due date listed in the course outline.
