Mindset    Windows 8 uses its modern interface to provide alternative ways of performing tasks usually found in the Control Panel.

To complete this challenge, you must once again change the default file association for JPEG files with a .jpg extension. However, this time, you cannot use the

Default Programs control panel. Change the default file association to the Paint program and, in doing so, complete the following tasks:

Overview
In this lab challenge, you will demonstrate how to disable automatic download updates using the Windows Store App.
Mindset    You have a local computer that is sensitive and you do not want to deploy any updates or changes to the system unless you manually update or change the system.
Completion time    5 minutes
As a local administrator for the computer running Windows 8, you want to demonstrate how to block automatic updates from within the Windows Store App by writing out

the steps that it would take to disable automatic downloads updates using the Windows Store app. Since your machine does not have Internet access, this is only a

written exercise.

organization, you can use Group Policy.

compatibility. To prevent users from attempting to run down-level applications, you have been instructed to disable the Windows 7 compatibility mode controls using

Group Policy.
