Your Essay Plan shows how you will organize your first essay.

Each part of your plan will be a body paragraph
You will have 4-5 paragraphs for your final essay
Your outline doesnt have to have complete sentences, except for the topic sentences and thesis statement

Your Essay Plan should contain the following sections;

Hook / background information: 1-2 sentences max (for this stage).
Thesis
Topic sentence (main idea) for each main paragraph.
Supporting points and examples/details: Bullet points are fine/no complete sentences required.
If your points or examples come from a source make sure you cite the source (authors last name, publication date and page or paragraph number is fine)
You will need to use information from all 4 sources. Direct quotations at this stage are also fine. However, when you write your final essay you will need to paraphrase/summarize the sources.

PROMPT 1:
Write an essay that gives an account of the history of coal in the 19th century. How did the industrial revolution create a demand for coal? What was coal used for? Why was coal the fossil fuel of choice? How did coal mining impact the workers?
