In this paper, you are to identify parallel themes running between the mythologies of two or more different cultures. I recommend you EITHER take two cultures (say, Greece and India) and show a number of similarities between characters, plot points, themes, or mystical/magical/sacred objects that exist in both stories OR choose a single character type (the Trickster, the Wise Man, the Dying God), or plot element (Flood, Miraculous Birth, Passage through the Underworld, Apotheosis) and identify its presence in many different myths from various cultures. Speculate as to the meaning of these myths and why these motifs are present in many cultures. Are they archetypes? Folk beliefs? Could they have been passed from one culture to another by immigrants or travelers? Support your claims if you can.
