Compare and contrast linkage and association methods of statistical
genetics. Examine the differences in design, hypothesis being tested,
genetic variants being investigated, assumptions for testing being
made, populations studied, statistical power, and indications for each
method. Use “real world” examples from research publications in your
discussion.

Please provide discussion about alpha levels/or p values and debates
about appropriate cut-offs
Recent literature regarding important debates about association and
linkage studies should be included (e.g. missing heritability,
approaches to use with sequence data, what types of markers can be
utilized in linkage versus association studies).
