? This course introduces conflict resolution studies. It explores both the nature of conflict and our understanding of what resolution seeks to achieve. This course also emphasizes strategies students currently employ toward resolving conflict in their own lives, with suggestions and examples that broaden their understanding of what is possible.

? Completion of the readings will be demonstrated via in-class participation and activities, which may include large and small group discussions/quizzes around key concepts and theoretical questions.

? In small groups every other week, you will identify a contemporary global/local/personal conflict and facilitate a brief group presentation of how the prior two weeks readings relate to the issue you identify.

1. All quotations or paraphrasing must receive an in-text APA direct-quotation or indirect-quotation formatted citation. These are two different formats according to the APA standards. Failure to properly cite sources (directly or indirectly) may constitute plagiarism (see Plagiarism section below).
2. Use a quotations. It’s better to paraphrase by putting the viewpoint or insight completely in your own words. Use direct quotations sparingly and only when it adds strength to your paper’s theoretical framework.

Final Reflection Paper:
? This paper should involve a reflection upon how the course material has impacted you. In other words, explain how the course has and will impact your personal/professional relationships, changed your perspective on conflict, altered how your react and behave in conflict, etc.
? Describe in detail how these transformations are influenced by your understanding of conflict and conflict resolution with regard to the course material.
? To get started, ask yourself how might this course influence you in three years or what will you take away from this course and practice three years from now?

Paper Length and Style: No more than five pages, double-spaced, standard size 12 fonts. The paper must be in standard American English, be grammatically sound, and conform to the APA writing style.
