You are the security supervisor for Khalas Gas based at Ras Laffan. You have been appointed by

your Head of Security to coordinate security at the plant. The plant is 2.5km x 2.5km in size, with a small administration complex attached.

In addition to the main gate entry,there is an internal gate (marked 1) between the administration area and the plant as well astwo
external gates (marked 2&3). Routine entry is bythe main gate and the internal plant gate, the two external gates are only opened for
special occasions (such as shut downs and vehicles which can’t pass through the Admin are a). You have a guard force of 40 guards members

are responsible for accesscontrol at all gates, patrolling of plant and administration areas and response to security incidents. You have

You hav e been advised by your Head of Security that a shutdown will be taking place in 3 weeks. The

shutdown will last for 4 weeks and run 24 hours per day. Three gastrains will be worked on,they are expecting 5000 workersto be in the
plant area during this shutdown,with a shutdown village established. Gate 3 will be permanently opened during this Shutdown and the village
will be established just inside that gate.

You are aware that the shutdown contractors have had some internal issues on other sites

leading to disruptionsto those site s. Their management have assured your Head of Securitythat there will be no issues but your head of
security wants you to include a plan for handling a disturbance included.
