Course Project Task I: Defining Project Scope

In M1: Assignment 2, you selected and described a public sector project for use in your course project. In M2: Assignment 1, you created a high-level view of the budget and examined the costs and the benefits of the organizational improvement project based on the public sector organization you chose in Module 1.

In this assignment, you will explicitly define and communicate the project scope to the senior management in your organization, stating clearly what the project will deliver and how. You will outline the scope of the organizational project improvement plan based on the public sector organization you chose in Module 1.

Please ensure that the timelines, the key success factors, as well as the benefits and the costs in your presentation align with scope of the project. Additionally, ensure that the scope of the project aligns with the mission and the strategic goals of the organization.

Create an outline in which you define the scope of the organizational improvement project in the selected public service sector. The outline must include the following:
• An organizational profile
• A description of the key improvement area within the organization
• Project scope
• Benefits and costs
• Key success factors
• Timelines
• Citations of appropriate laws and regulations to explain alignment with the mission and the strategic goals of the organization.
• A reference slide in APA style
