In Chapter 1, Crime, Criminal Justice, and Policy, there’s a brief discussion concerning the two models of the criminal process: the crime-control model and the due-process model. The tension between the two accounts for the conflict and disharmony that now is observable in the criminal justice system.
Your discussion question for this week is discuss which model is more correct? Obviously, to declare that one of these models is superior to the other requires one to make a value judgment. Consider what you’ve read and studied over the past seven weeks.
