critical review of each module/chapter, drawing on the concepts discussed in APPL942 and in your

reading with regard to discourse communities, genres and language (language features, stance, etc).
For each module or chapter, you will need to:
? Identify the audience for the text
– language level;
– level of study/proposed study: undergraduate; postgraduate; doctoral
– general disciplinary focus
? identify the features of academic discourse and/or the academic skills selected for attention
? evaluate this selection in the light of research on the nature of academic discourse.
