Critically examine the argument that there is a ‘male monopoly’ (Freel, M. (2003) in the perpetration of child sexual abuse. Do this by looking at female offender, institutional abuse, and cross cultural arguments and statistics.

Here we will be looking at the argument that there is a male monopoly in the perpetration of child sexual abuse. In order to do this, we will ask some critical questions about the research already done in this surrounding area, look at some cross cultural statistics, as well as examining the reasons why someone would abuse a child. Furthermore we have to begin at the start, looking at what the sexual abuse of a child is, and the implications of the actions done.
