(The current position is that, given that the competition in 2012/13 was strong because a wider variety of chocolates entered the market coupled with the fact that the economy was in recession, Crunchy chocolates sales dropped significantly. However, the demand for Crunchy chocolates declined steeply not only as a result of the above, but also mainly because Crunchy has been linked to food Poisoning.
All of the above factors, in particular the link to food Poisoning, have resulted in a severe downturn in Crunchy turnover. The company is currently in acute financial trouble.

The Crunchy board of directors has therefore decided to employ a business consultancy to analyse what can be done to overcome the current problems.)

Assignment aim

The aim is to analyse a problem in a business and write a case study report. This requires you to identify a current problem in an existing business, analyse the problem, provide solutions, evaluate those solutions and then draw recommendations to present to the business to help them improve the situation. You will need to undertake the following:

1. Identify a business which is experiencing a problem. Choose a business which is most relevant to your business interest and knowledge.
2. Research the causes and consequences of the problem the business is experiencing
3. Come up with at least three possible solutions to the problem and evaluate these solutions.
4. From the solutions, offer one or two recommendations to present to the Board of Directors which could help them overcome the problems.
