Background

Chapters 1-6 in the Northouse text, Leadership, provide a good introduction to the concept of leadership. Chapter 14 explores the concept of culture and leadership.

The Adler text, International Dimensions of Organizational Behavior, expands on and compliments Northouse. As Adler states, “The world of organizations is no longer defined by national boundaries” (Adler, p. v). And, “Managing the global enterprise and modern business management have become synonymous” (Adler, p. 5).

Description

Pick a country/culture and develop a paper of 6-8 double spaced pages based on the topic “A Culture Briefing of _________________.” Choose a different culture from the one on your midterm. You are also to provide a separate 8-10 slide Power Point presentation to brief your colleagues. The Power Point does not have to be submitted to turnitin.com, but submit it along with your paper when in your Assignment Folder. Your paper might include (but not be limited) to the following:
• Location
• History
• Size
• Political System
• Economic System
• Language
• Traditions
• Values and ethics
• Life Styles
• Characteristics of the Culture
• Business Practices
• Tips for leading in this country
• Conclusion (What is most important to remember about leading and/or managing an office or facility in this country).

Presentation

? APA format (title page, abstract, text, citations, and references). This was a major feature of MGMT 610, so you should be competent in APA. You may want to refer to the paper in Conferences, “Writing Papers That Are Easy to Grade”
? 1” margins on all sides
? Times New Roman, 12 point font
? Double spacing
? Avoid use of 1st person (I and we)
? 6-8 pages
? Submit to turnitin.com before midnight of the due date and put the rating on the cover page. Note: a rating over 25% is unacceptable.
