Course description:
This course introduces students to the history, practices, values, concepts, and modern expressions and challenges of Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, Sikh, Daoist, Confucian, Shinto, Jewish, Christian, Islamic, and emerging traditions.

Course Objectives:
1. To gain a basic understanding of how religions throughout the world have been and are currently practiced.
2. To recognize how diverse practices, histories, cultures, etc. can be while perhaps existing together under the label of “religion” or a specific religion.
3. To become aware of current issues relating to religion.
4. To gain an understanding of how people’s religious affiliation, activity, behavior, beliefs, etc. may come to influence other aspects of their culture and society.
