1. How is a curriculum model defined?
2. Hilda Taba was a student of a very famous pioneer of progressive education. Who was he and how do you think his work influenced hers?
3. Why is her model considered not as reliant on traditional “top to bottom” models primarily lead by administrators?
4. Do you think the steps for implementing Taba’s model are linear? Why or why not?

Regarding the “Put Understand First” article about the Backward Design Model (UbD)
1. How does this model relate to the development of critical thinking skills?
2. The application of learning to the “real world” is emphasized. To what extent do you think colleges and universities are focusing on such learning?
3. How does this address some of the concerns regarding the use of testing in schools?
