When Athena asked Telemachos to go look for his father, she already knew that he was on his way home. Telemachos’s journey didn’t really help Odysseus much. Why, then, did Telemachos need to go out to look for his father? Be sure to draw information from throughout the text to support your answer. HINT: It might be helpful to think of Telemachos in comparison with his father. What was the status or reputation of each? What had Odysseus achieved that Telemachos wanted to achieve?

Was Odysseus justified in killing the suitors? Why or why not? Be sure to draw evidence from throughout the text to support your answer.

Write a mini paper (1300-1500 words) with a THESIS STATEMENT and ARGUMENT about the sections of the Odyssey that you read. Your paper will be a response to one of the questions provided, with your answer serving as your thesis statement.
While it is not prohibited, I discourage you from using sources beyond those listed above. Instead, concentrate on writing a good argument.
