Criteria for marking

This assessment item will be marked according to the following criteria.
1.    The response conforms to appropriate requirements of the specific format (12 point font text etc.), cover page included, with student name, student number, and tutorial time/room number clearly stated. (2%)
2.    Structure of the report with appropriate Introduction, Body, Conclusion, Reference List and In-text-referencing. (3%)
3.    The extent to which subject material covered in lectures and/or tutorials is relevant to the topic. (5%)
4.    Coherence of the written work, quality of the arguments made, degree to which the written work displays the students’ understanding of, and reflections on the related topic. (10%)

Note: Criteria three and four include but are not limited to a demonstrated understanding of the relevant economic theory and data, the appropriate application of economics and the strength and coherence of arguments. Criteria one and two include the structure of the report, logical consistency and clarity of presentation, and correct referencing.

Students must present a report that directly addresses the assignment task. It is expected that the report will provide concise economic arguments and any appropriate explanatory diagrams. Marks will be awarded for reasoned explanations and arguments based upon economic analysis, not for rewriting business and economic commentary.

Words beyond the stated world limit this will not be considered by the marker. Extensions will only be granted by the lecturer in extreme circumstances, and requests made prior to the due date, except with circumstances make this impossible. Late reports will receive a zero mark.
