Demographic Profile
A. Create a demographic profile focusing on the characteristics of the population of young children and their
families who reside in your community.
B. Present an issue, trend, challenge, or controversy that emerged from the demographic profile you created that
impacts children and families in your community.
1. Explain what is being done to address the needs of children and families in your community in regard to the
issue you identified.
2. Propose how to further advocate for children and families in your community based on what you learned from the
demographic profile.
C. Illustrate how the information you have explored in parts A and B could impact children’s learning.
D. Illustrate how the information you have explored in parts A and B could impact your interactions with children,
families, and the community as an early childhood professional.
