Project description
this is a design process book assignment. my group build and design a modular habitat for praying mantis, because it could easily find in the garden, and the praying mantis eat bugs. they could protect the crops.

about the design. Uhm, well let me briefly introduce our design first. there’s 3 main parts(see photo) Detachable triangles that will have plants, and a mesh wall with holes for mantis to go back and forth. A frame for holding branches and the lights to attract praying mantis and moths.

i will send you the pictures of the process. and just follow the requirement of the professor give. there also has a example for it i will upload.

SSIGNMENT
In this project you will implement the design process and
document your work as you join forces with fellow
students to build a habitat or residence for beneficial garden creatures
WHAT YOU WILL MAKE
:
1. Each group will design and build a modular structure to serve as a habitat for benefici
al garden creatures.
2. The group project’s modular design is composed of individual modules, each designed and built by one individual
student. The number of group members is the minimum number of modules, although additional modules and/or
elements may b
e constructed as needed by group members.
3. Each student designs, prints / constructs, and submits a process book to document the design process engaged in
group and individual work towards completion of this project (print and PDF).
Each student will wo
rk
individually and collectively
with her discussion section group (5
–
6 students per group). On
12/10, during class lecture time, all students will contribute to a group critique.
Also on 12/10, each student will turn in a physical “process book” documen
ting the design process and its result; a
digital copy will be submitted to Smartsite, in
pdf format
, by 10 p.m. on 12/10. (See the ”
PROCESS BOOK
” section of
this assignment for further details.)
Although we are working in groups, each student will turn i
n a unique set of materials that were created by her alone.

component module of the completed structure. To do so, each student will fully pursue a

process individually, while working to meet the needs of the group. Individual grades will be based on group

prima donnas
; this is not about being a visionary
rockstar designer, it’s about working together).
The finished structure will be displayed outside the classroom for critique on 12/10/14.
