Studying this module has been re-recognising myself about the leadership styles and characteristics I have seen in my career, and which academically explained and proved what actually are, such as authentic and pseudo leadership styles, described by Bass and Steidlmeier (1999) cited by Jackson & Parry (2008, p98). And I realise that I actually have met only “countable with fingers of one hand’ numbers of authentic leaders, and rest of them are unfortunately rather applied to some of the pseudo essences described by Jackson and Parry (2008, p98-100).

With acknowledging this study module and theory, I now can reckon the real workplace is not simple as written in the books, yet it can bring big difference and influence effectively, if leaders understand what the meaning of “leading”, and that ultimately structure the sustainable company, I believe. In this sense, perhaps Pinnow (2011, p237) are right by saying that valued leaders always have good knowledge tools, but Leaders need to acquire those tools not only theory but be based on doing, and improve them further practically. However, I also cannot help but recognising the fact that there are no “perfect” leaders in the world. Likewise we say, “no one is perfect”, and that is the reason why we live in the societies where we can influence each other, which is rather human naturally form.

In this context of social and influence, it is applicable more to art leadership theory illustrated by Jackson and Parry (2008, p105-109) including the metaphorical explanation of parenting, schooling, captaincy, and drama. And Jackson & Parry is correct when they describe about the leaders’ role in the context of corporate culture and society that the leaders are role models for employees with full responsibility on the team and their job.

It is important for ourselves, who aspires becoming a future great leader, to bear in the mind that we are capable to generate future talent assets among followers by giving a good influence and inspire, if we can perform good leadership together with original individually.

In my case, together with the studies of this module on the leadership quality, I additionally need to build the quality of global leadership. My further pursuit is now to acquire and build the perspectives of the authentic leadership in the global cultural context, for which I believe one of the major requirements for modern business and companies.
