Topic: Your choice of topic approved by the topic coordinator before the submission of Assignment 1.
Briefly explain the nature of the environmental problem (its physical or technical aspects), but don’t let this overwhelm the case study. Your paper will also need to consider the social, cultural and economic impact of the issue in addition to the environmental or ecological impact. This will constitute a short background briefing on the issue, not a major section of the essay. The main theme will focus on the policy elements and dynamics of the issue.
There are a number of possible approaches to doing this, but please contact me for guidance well before the case study is due.
Finally, and this could flow nicely into a conclusion, based on the arguments and evidence you have presented in the assignment, outline how this issue fits with current or recent trends in environmental policy in Australia or any other country. You might also like to speculate about likely future developments or trends in relation to the particular issue.
