Ethics

In the biblical story of Abraham and Isaac, Abraham is commanded by God to sacrifice his son (Genesis 22.1-24). 19th-century, Danish philosopher, Søren Kierkegaard famously questioned whether or not this divine command was ethical. Read the story and ask yourself the same question. What would you think if someone told you God commanded his/her son‟s sacrifice? Would the mere fact of the commandment provide a sufficient rationale for the action? In 3-4 pages (typed and double-spaced) answer these questions and provide a defense for your answer. Your paper should be virtually free from grammatical and typographical errors and sources should be properly referenced using APA. The paper should also have a clear thesis statement, provide supporting argumentation for the thesis, and your argumentation should demonstrate critical engagement with the assigned readings.
