his research paper is on the ethical dilemma of euthanasia. It requires a minimum of 7 sources, with at least one book, one news article, and 5 journal articles. It will contextualize this moral dilemma both ethically and historically. It should apply the critical thinking concepts developed by Vincent Ryan Ruggiero (in the book thinking critically about ethical issues, chapters 1-11)and indirectly make use of the process of historical thinking developed by Winthrop Jordan (in the book White over Black). The historical time period may span a few years, a few decades, or longer. It will explain the shifts in thinking about your moral dilemma over a period of time: Has the issue become more or less moral or stayed the same? IT will explain the historical context that has made the issue a dilemma and the consequences for choosing either side. It will describe the real stakes in the debate about this issue (on either side) and come to the conclusion that euthanasia of people is morally justified. Page 1-2: Describes the issue at stake specifically. Contextualizes the issue specifically (by state, group affected, or any other relevant parameters). Defines terms carefully so 1 the reader is prepared for what is to follow. Uses the most relevant concepts from Ruggiero to elaborate about the issues at stake. Explains why our common-sense understanding may not apply to this issue. • Pages 3-5: Describes the trajectory of the issue. Explains carefully the turning points and the surprises in the turning points. What are the main historical turning points and what were the set of debates surrounding at least four turning points? What did the courts say? The public? The government? Scientists? Schools? Churches? Internet gurus? Elaborate on the different institutional (group) interests and values. • Page 6-7: Returns thoughtfully to the question at stake. Reasons with the reader based on the evidence presented. Evaluates the moral arguments on both sides. Takes one side of the issue and explains why
