Exegesis or interpretation of a biblical text

Order Description
Write a critical interpretation – exegesis – of the following passage from the Bible:

Exodus 3:1-22

This assignment is designed to allow you to demonstrate your
skills in the use of one or more methods of critical analysis of text
in order to arrive at an authentic interpretation of a select
passage.

You need to use direct quotes from the Bible and the version I would like used you can find it online and its called the
“The Bible – New revised standard version”.

In addition to the bible you need to use appropriate academic journal articles. These must be referenced throughout the essay and you need to use the minimum of 12/15 academic articles. I will try to upload some academic articles I think is appropriate. In addition you need to have the correct reference style (CHICAGO) and since its a post graduate paper there should be a sufficient amount of footnotes and references! This is imperative for academic writing.

The resources I put up will help you write this essay however the following is the outcomes of how this will be assessed:

1. articulate a general knowledge of the contents of the Bible

2. locate and analyse information relating to the historical, geographical and social contexts of the
world that gave rise to the biblical texts, using a variety of sources, including online databases

3. describe different approaches to biblical interpretation using a variety of methods such as narrative, hermeneutical, exegetical, historical-critical and socio-literary

4. think critically and ask penetrating questions, both of the biblical text and of their own interpretations

5. articulate a personal response to the text and test its contemporary relevance, personally, socially and religiously
