Assessment Overview
The written assignment for this module comprises a 1500 word assignment.
For this assignment, select a child from the Brown family. Identify one of the children from the scenario. It is recommended that you choose a child which is most specific to your particular area of practice.
Complete a Getting it Right For Every Child (GIRFEC) assessment using the National Practice Model and SHANARRI indicators on a fictitious child and include as an appendix with your assignment, answering one of the two questions outlined below:
- Using a family from the case studies, critically evaluate the value of Early Intervention work in improving the health and wellbeing of the child identified and their family. Explore and recommend interventions or strategies which would enhance the wellbeing of the child or family including working with other interagency professionals. For example: using Early Intervention Programmes, using Play@home or Bookbug with the family, referring other agencies/professionals, attending local groups or nursery.
OR
- In relation to a child identified in the case studies critically evaluate parenting strategies. Including parenting strategies discussed in the module content. Based on your findings, make recommendations that would support children and families and make recommendations for practice.
Importantly, remember to support your assignment with relevant research and other sources of evidence.
