You are required to research, analyse and critically comment on the financial reporting of a company quoted on the London Stock Exchange. You must use the most recently published full year accounts.

Choose your company from the list of the top two hundred companies on the London Stock Exchange.

Choose a company whose latest, full, audited, annual accounts and report are for a period ended since 30th June 2009.

Consider and write about the reports with reference to:

1. Consolidated Statement of Comprehensive Income
2. Consolidated Statement of Financial Position
3. Consolidated Statement of Changes in Equity
4. Consolidated Statement of Cash Flows

Critically comment upon the quality and usefulness of the reporting in each of these documents by reference to the Qualitative Characteristics of Financial Information.

Draw comparisons the reports of a similar company.

Marks will be awarded on the overall quality of your research and analysis and the application of your knowledge to reasoned, logical argument.

Marks will be awarded within each section for presentation, communication, analysis and constructive criticism
