For this essay, you are being asked to identify a concept- a general idea defined/illustrated by specific

instances. The difficulty with this assignment lies in narrowing your topic to a more specific concept. For

example, you may look at the concept of ” mother.” However, once you narrow this topic, you might look at the

concept of ” mother.” However, once you narrow this topic, you might look at various single mothers- the

results of teen pregnancy, divorce, etc. In narrowing this topic, you will seek to explain, define, compare, or

classify this concept. As I explained in class, this assignment requires you to THINK.

Each essay MUST be typed, double-spaced, with a 1 inch margin on each side and a running header with your lase

name and the page number in the upper right hand corner.
Each essay must be a 12pt. font( Times New Roman)
Each essay must have your name, my name, the course name and the date in the upper left hand corner.
Each essay must have a centered creative title. Do not underline it. Each essay must be at least three 3 full

pages in length. Any paper not meeting the length requirement will lose one point.
